News reports show in graphic details Buddhist monks attacking Muslims in Burma. Christians fighting and killing Muslims in Syria indiscriminately. Islamist extremists blowing-up Catholics in Nigeria. Sikh’s and Hindu’s battle each other in India. Religious violence is a common factor in today’s world. The face of the twenty first century is deeply scarred by radical religious movements constantly evolving and emerging it would appear from all the world’s cultures. Whether they areChristian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh or Hindu they all share one basic common denominator…MAN! |

LONDON BOOK FAIR – TALK - APRIL 2013 Frederick Hurr – Christian Writer: “Redeeming and transforming people’s lives through fiction”. I was an arrogant and vociferous atheist for half of my adult life. I thought Christians were deluded and foolish for believing in God. Like Saint Paul I targeted believers, tore up Bibles, and persecuted Christians. Though I did not know it, I was unwittingly attacking Jesus the Son of God. |

The merits of mass communication through TV and the Internet is, at times like this, debatable. Uncensored scenes shown across the world on both forms of media teach and instruct on would be criminals what the possibilities are for organised riot, vandalism, theft and premeditated lawlessness. In this year alone across the world we have all have witnessed what mob rule can do whether for good or ill, the fundamentals are the same. That police forces in the western world who don’t use deadly force to contain riots are at risk and become vulnerable to serious injury and harm and even death. |
